Madame Matcha is the mystic fortune-teller of the Rite of Cups in the Pour Boy universe. Known for her striking beauty, poise, and seeming humanity, she rarely leaves her tent. When she does, witnesses claim she appears to glide rather than walk. Her power comes from the legendary Divinicus Teacup, in which visions of fate are revealed through the liquid surface of the tea. == The Divinicus Teacup == The Divinicus Teacup is a relic of unknown origin, said to have first been used to predict the rise of New Bitterton, hundreds of years ago. When tea is poured into it, the liquid’s swirling surface reveals visions. Madame Matcha is able to read these swirls as the **likely paths of destiny**, glimpsing the direction and flow of the Brew Cycle. Her readings are not blunt truths but probabilities, nearly always borne out by events in the world. == Theories of Her Nature == The true nature of Madame Matcha remains unknown. Several theories persist: * That she is the physical manifestation of the Divinicus Teacup itself. * That she was once a mortal woman, transformed by the cup’s power. * That she is the latest in a long bloodline of keepers trained to wield its incredible power. None of these theories are confirmed, and her origins remain a mystery. == Disappearances == On rare occasions, Madame Matcha’s entire tent vanishes without a trace, only to reappear later exactly as it was. These vanishings have led many to believe she is inseparably bound to the Divinicus Teacup and its mysteries. == Role in the Rite of Cups == Though she travels with the Rite of Cups, her allegiance is uncertain. She is widely believed to remain close to Earl of Grey out of suspicion, knowing he will eventually uncover relics tied to the Brew Cycle. Whether she intends to seize such relics, protect them, or merely witness their emergence is unknown. == Her Power == * Visions manifest only in the liquid of the steeped tea within the Divinicus Teacup. * These visions reveal the **momentum of fate** — the flow of events through the Brew Cycle. * She provides glimpses of possible destinies, not certainties. * To ignore her readings is considered folly; to rely on them blindly is equally dangerous. == See Also == * Rite of Cups * Divinicus Teacup * Earl of Grey * Brew Cycle
